AI Visibility: get found and cited by AI engines

AI visibility is how often AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot — mention, recommend or cite your brand when someone asks a question in your category. It is the AI-era equivalent of ranking, except the prize is a sentence in the answer rather than a link on a page.

This is the hub for everything Maveriko has written on the subject: what AI visibility is, how AI search actually works, and the concrete moves that make an engine name your site.

Visibility, readiness and authority

Most tools blur three different things together and then promise to measure the one that is hardest to measure. Keeping them apart is the whole game, because each has a different fix — and only two of the three can be measured directly.

ConceptThe question it answersMeasurable directly?
AI readiness (GEO)Is this page prepared to be quoted?Yes — from the page
Entity authorityDoes AI already know this brand?Yes — from public records
AI visibilityDo engines cite you right now?Only by live prompting, repeatedly

Maveriko measures the first two and is deliberate about not faking the third — our methodology explains why. Raise readiness and authority, and visibility follows.

What actually moves the needle

Four levers do most of the work, in rough order of impact:

  1. Retrievability — AI crawlers must be allowed to fetch the page at all. Block them and nothing else matters.
  2. Extractable structure — schema, direct-answer openings, lists and tables give an engine a clean fact to lift.
  3. Entity authority — a brand the model already recognises gets named from training data, before any page is read.
  4. Corroboration — the same facts stated consistently across your site and third-party sources earn the engine’s confidence.

Want a number for the on-page part right now? The free AI Readiness Checker scores your page’s HTML in your browser, or run the full audit on a live URL for all four levers.

The GEO half

The on-page half: making a page structurally quotable. Generative Engine Optimization is the on-page discipline that makes a single page structurally quotable — the content layer that sits under everything above.
