AI Readiness Checker

An AI readiness score is a 0–100 measure of how easily AI answer engines can read and quote a page. Paste your HTML and this free checker scores it in your browser.

How to use this

Scoring a page here is a four-step job, and nothing leaves your device.

  1. 1Open your web page, right-click, and choose “View Page Source”. Select all, and copy.
  2. 2Paste it into the box below.
  3. 3You’ll get a score for how easily AI assistants can read and quote your page, plus the specific things to improve.
  4. 4Want the full picture — including how well AI already knows your brand? Run the main audit with just your page’s address.

This checker measures the on-page half of AI readiness. Crawler access (robots.txt) and entity authority need a live fetch, so for the complete picture run the full audit on your live URL. Curious how it’s scored? See the methodology.

What an AI readiness score for a website measures

An AI readiness score is a measure of the on-page half of being quotable: whether the markup, structure and prose let a machine lift a clear answer from the page.

Answer engines retrieve passages, not whole pages. A page is ready when each section opens with its answer, the headings split it into passages that make sense alone, lists and tables carry the data, and structured data states who published it.

It is not a prediction that an engine will cite you. Google says a page needs to be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that no special markup is required. This score measures how easy the page is to quote once it is found.

How to check your website's AI readiness

Checking a page is quick: copy its HTML source, paste it here, and read the checks that lost points first, because they carry the most weight.

  1. Open the page in a browser, view its source, select all and copy.
  2. Paste it into the checker above and run it.
  3. Fix the heaviest failing check first — the table below shows each weight.
  4. For crawler access and brand recognition, which need a live fetch, run the full audit on the page's URL.

What the AI Readiness Index scores, and how much

The index is a weighted score out of 100 across these checks, read directly from the scorer this page runs.

A check that does not apply to the page, such as image alt text on a page with no images, leaves the denominator instead of scoring zero.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good AI readiness score?+

The checker's bands are 85 and above excellent, 70–84 good, 50–69 needs work and below 50 poor. Fix the heaviest failing check first; it moves the score most.

Is the AI readiness checker free?+

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the HTML you paste is scored in your browser, never uploaded.

Why doesn't it check robots.txt or my brand?+

Because both need a live fetch. Crawler access comes from your server's robots.txt, and brand recognition from public knowledge bases. The full Maveriko audit checks both from a URL.

Does a high score guarantee ChatGPT or Google will cite my page?+

No. It measures whether the page is easy to quote. Being cited also depends on being indexed, ranking for the question, and how well known the source is.

What it cannot see

Being honest about the boundary matters more here than a higher number would. Because this runs in your browser, it cannot make network requests on your behalf, so three things are invisible to it: whether your robots.txt allows AI crawlers, whether your live page server-renders the HTML you pasted, and whether your brand resolves to a known entity in Wikidata.

Those are not minor. Crawler access is a pass/fail gate — a blocked page scores nothing regardless of its markup — and entity authority is a large share of whether an engine names you in a recommendation. A strong index here means the page is well built; the live URL audit is what tells you whether it can be reached and whether the brand behind it is recognised.
