Ahrefs Brand Radar Alternatives: 6 Tools and Prices
Ahrefs Brand Radar is Ahrefs' AI-visibility product, and it is priced in two parts rather than one.
Custom prompts — the questions you choose, refreshed daily — are free inside every paid Ahrefs plan from Lite at $129 a month, or from $50 a month on their own. The AI Visibility Index, which maps a market across 451 million collected prompts, is $199 a month for 83 prompts a day and 2,500 checks, with extra checks at 2 cents each.
So the real question is whether you want an Ahrefs subscription at all. The six tools below are priced on their own, with every figure read from the vendor's page on 24 September 2026.
Why people look for a Ahrefs Brand Radar alternative
Price is the usual reason, and it is rarely the only one:
- You do not want a full Ahrefs plan. Brand Radar's prompts ride along with one, which is excellent value if you have it and irrelevant if you do not.
- The index and the prompts are separate purchases, so watching your own prompts and mapping a market are two line items rather than one.
- Check-based pricing needs arithmetic: five prompts on one platform is 150 checks a month, and one model can spend eight checks per update.
- Tracking is not fixing. Once a report says you are missing from an answer, the next question is which page to change, which is a different tool.
The alternatives, compared
Each tool below is listed with what it does, what it costs and who it suits.
- 01
Rankscale
From $20/month Essentials; Pro $99, Growth $385, Enterprise $780Sells AI-visibility tracking on its own, metered in credits, with an entry plan well below a full Ahrefs subscription.
Best for: Replacing Brand Radar's prompt tracking without paying for an SEO suite around it.
Free option: Free trial on the Pro plan
- 02
Otterly.ai
$29/month Lite ($25 annually), $189 Standard, $489 Premium; +100 prompts $99Watches a defined prompt list across AI search engines and reports the brands and links each answer uses.
Best for: A single brand's prompt list, watched at a price closer to Brand Radar's standalone tier than its index.
- 03
Knowatoa
$59/month Starter, $199 Growth, Enterprise on requestChecks your prompts against several AI models and shows whether your site appears among the sources behind the answers.
Best for: Model coverage at the price of Brand Radar's index, without the Ahrefs plan underneath it.
Free option: Free trial
- 04
Semrush
$139/month entry plan; prompt tracking from the $199 plan (50 a day), $299 (100), $549 (200)Bundles AI-visibility reporting into its SEO plans, the same trade Ahrefs makes: the tracking comes with the suite.
Best for: Teams choosing between two suites rather than between two trackers.
Free option: Free trial
- 05
Scrunch AI
$250/month Core (125 prompts, 5 site audits a month, 5 licences); Enterprise on requestBundles a large prompt allowance with site audits, a brand workspace and five user licences for agency work.
Best for: Running AI visibility for clients, where seats and workspaces matter more than index size.
Free option: 7-day trial
- 06
Maveriko
Free for scores and the top fix, no account; $29/month for the full reportAudits the page rather than the answer: whether AI crawlers can fetch it, whether a passage can be quoted, and what to change when the answer is no.
Best for: The step after a Brand Radar report. It measures whether a page is eligible to be quoted; it does not track mentions.
Free option: Free scan, no sign-up

Which one to pick, by what you need
The right tool is the one that answers the question you actually have:
| What you need | What to use |
|---|---|
| Prompt tracking without an Ahrefs plan | Rankscale or Otterly.ai, both sold on their own from under $30 a month. |
| A market-wide view like the AI Visibility Index | Nothing here matches its 451 million prompts; Knowatoa and Scrunch AI cover more models on your own prompt list instead. |
| One subscription for SEO and AI visibility | Semrush, which bundles the tracking the same way Ahrefs does. |
| Client workspaces and seats | Scrunch AI's Core plan, which includes five licences. |
| The fix behind a missing citation | Maveriko, free for one page. |
What Maveriko does not measure
We are one entry on our own list, so here is our ceiling, stated plainly:
- No traffic, keyword-volume or backlink data — that needs a paid clickstream database, and guessing it would be worse than omitting it.
- No measurement of whether AI engines cite you today. Maveriko scores whether a page is built to be cited, which is a different (and controllable) thing.
- Site crawls stop at 25 pages, so a large site is sampled rather than covered. A single-page scan stays unlimited and free.
- No scheduled or recurring crawls — every scan and crawl is one you start yourself.
The full scoring methodology publishes every check, weight and threshold behind those scores.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ahrefs Brand Radar free?+
Its custom prompts are included in every paid Ahrefs plan from Lite up, which starts at $129 a month, so they are free only in the sense that the suite is already paid for. Bought on their own the prompts start at $50 a month, and the AI Visibility Index is a separate $199 a month.
What replaces the AI Visibility Index?+
Nothing on this list has an index of 451 million collected prompts, and claiming otherwise would be an easy thing to check and get caught doing. What the alternatives do instead is watch a prompt list you define, across several models, which answers a narrower question at a lower price.
Which alternative is cheapest?+
Rankscale's entry plan at $20 a month, then Otterly.ai at $29 and Knowatoa at $59. Compare the prompt allowance and refresh rate rather than the headline price, because the cheapest plans track the fewest prompts and check them least often.
Can Maveriko tell me whether ChatGPT cites my site?+
No, and no audit tool can. What Maveriko measures is whether a page is eligible to be cited: whether AI crawlers are allowed to fetch it, whether its opening answers a question in a quotable form, whether its structured data and entity evidence identify the brand. Citation itself is an engine's decision, which the trackers on this list sample and nobody can guarantee.
